Stress Ruining Your Relationship? With everything that we have going on in our lives today, it is no surprise that personal stress has become a constant Stress Ruining Your Relationship?
companion. If you are like most people, you feel like you are always on the run, without enough time to even acknowledge that you are running on fumes. Too much stress equals relationship dissatisfaction.

You might believe that you are too busy to manage your stress but actually small steps can greatly reduce your stress.

Here are my suggestions:

1). Breathe.

This very simple, doable exercise calms your nervous system and settles your anxiety. Simply breathe in through your nose until you feel your tummy expand…hold it for a few seconds and breathe out slowly through your mouth,  saying ‘calm or relax’ to yourself while exhaling.

2). Focus.

Shift your focus to whatever you are doing. If you are washing dishes, focus on the act itself, the soap, the water…slow everything down and really pay attention to the present…rather than anxiety about the past or worries about the future. This is an extremely easy but very effective way to relieve stress.

3). Be Grateful.

The human mind naturally looks for the negative qualities. This can lead to feeling like you never measure up. This is a huge stressor. Shift your mindset and allow yourself to appreciate and acknowledge all of your positive assets. A sure fire remedy for personal stress! Positive feelings lead to better moods and better relationship health.
